Annual General Meetings
Programme of the FOS conference and AGM in Bern in 2017
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is a great opportunity to meet other FoS members and fellow-travelers, to discuss the latest results of scientific research on
the Soqotra Archipelago, to learn about ongoing projects, and to share information about FoS activities over the last year. Both members and non-members are very welcome to participate in the meetings.
Between 2001 and 2017 the AGM has been held in different European countries. The 16th Annual General Meeting of the Friends of
Soqotra and Symposium was held on 27 - 29 October at the Natural History Museum in Bern, Switzerland. The Meeting was hosted and
organised by Eike Neubert.
The committee of the FOS has a new Vice-chair which now is Julian Jansen van Rensburg. The new editors for the "Tayf"-Newsletter are Hana Habrova, Lisa Banfield and Alan Forrest.
We thank Sue Christie for her extraordinary work on "Tayf" during the last decades and hope that she will stay with the committee for more decades.
The same gratitude goes to Hugh Morris who was an amazing treasurer, and who handed over this sensitive task to Sabina Knees during the last year.
The AGM Minutes with further information and some pictures of the meeting are available soon.
In 2018 the 17th Annual General Meeting of the Friends of Soqotra and Symposium
will be from 26 to 30 October in Bahrein. Further Information about programme, travelling and accomodation
you will find here during the next months.
